Enrollment in traditional Computer Science college degrees has started to decline as students shift toward specialized technical and healthcare fields.
Data from the National Student Clearinghouse Research Center shows that undergraduate enrollment in traditional Computer and Information Sciences fell sharply at four-year institutions, snapping a decade-long growth spree. Instead, college students are increasingly gravitating toward applied Data Science, Data Analytics, and Health Professions degrees that offer direct, specialized workforce applications.
